Chilling out
Our accommodation is a basic room without a fridge or kettle, hence the first few days were mostly eating out. Thankfully, we found a huge hypermarket just across the road and soon we had a supply of foodstuff for breakfast/tea. To keep the food and drinks chilled, we left them outside the window (thank God for cold seasons!) as the autumn temperature averages about 15C and at night around 6C.
In Malaysia, I would never imagined putting food outside to keep fresh. In fact, keeping it out would make food spoils even faster. A simple example of how different life can be outside of my own comfort zone. Well, let’s hope no birds come and take away the food tomorrow 🙂
